1 life-flighted after accident in Linn County

Two Kirksville residents were hurt Thursday morning in northeastern Linn County when a car overturned off highway eleven north of New Boston.

A passenger, 30-year-old Chantelle Watson, was flown by medical helicopter to University Hospital at Columbia with moderate injuries.

The driver, 51-year-old Robert Pettibone, was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital at Brookfield with moderate injuries.

The accident happened five miles north of New Boston on Highway 5, when the northbound car went off the right side of the road and overturned, demolishing the vehicle.

Pettibone was wearing a seatbelt, but Ms. Watson was not.
