1 hurt in 3-car crash on I-35 near Winston

A Lawrence, Kansas resident was hurt Wednesday afternoon in a three-vehicle accident about six miles north of Winston on Interstate 35.

68-year old Dianne Schwartz of Lawrence, Kansas was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

The other two drivers, 19-year old Carrie Schultz of Prole, Iowa, and 25-year old Breanna Hoffman from Lawrence, Kansas were not reported hurt.

The patrol reports Ms. Schultz was southbound on I-35 when the car she was driving was forced into the median by another vehicle not involved in a collision, when her vehicle traveled onto northbound I-35, colliding with a northbound car driven by Ms. Hoffman in the left lane and then collided with the northbound car operated by Ms. Schwartz in the right lane. The car driven by Ms. Schwartz went off the road and overturned, coming to rest on its top demolishing the vehicle.

The car driven by Ms. Schultz traveled off the road where it came to a stop receiving extensive damage. The car driven by Ms. Hoffman came to a controlled stop near the crash scene with minor damage.

All three occupants were wearing seatbelts.
